Tweet with us…

I hope everyone enjoyed the season opener against Corona Del Sol, what a great start to the season. I am looking for a few responsable parents or students that would like to join me in helping tweet the games, some of the Facebook interaction and possible some website help.

This year I will have limited time to Tweet the Freshman and JV games but understand that there are parents out there that as my self may not be able to make one of the games but they can follow it on twitter on their phone, pad or tablet while at work. I need few people that will take the time dutring the games I will not be able to make to get those tweets out…

I have been working on some new interactive pages for Basha with a new application that will pull data from the website and few other places, its not finished yet but in the next few weeks we will have the best Facebook in the state. I would like a few students that are willing to get photos from the Pep Rallies at school and organize some student pride on the page and get a good following with picture of pre game days for everyone to to see including the parents who follow your Bears on Facebook.

Yes the website again I am looking for those who want to be a part of helping get the word out about one of the best teams in the state. I need pictures, stories and funny stuff I can add to the website to give it the the petina of the school. We want it to seep and ooze of school spirit, so send me your pics from the games and stories and I will see where I can implement them…what a way to help your Bears and the web master get information on the website faster and with better quality content.

The Basha Bears want to recognize two outstanding young men with the 2010 Scholarship Award Winners.  This year an additional scholarship was offered along with the annual Jason Earl State Farm scholarship which has been given out for the past few years.  The Basha Football Boosters handed out its first annual scholarship to a football player who met certain guidelines set forth by the Boosters.

The Winner of the Jason Earl State Farm Scholarship for 2010 season was Dean Vo
The Winner of the Basha Booster Scholarship for 2010 season was John Tanguay

Both of these tremendous young men stand for what Basha football is all about.  They led not only on the field, but in the classrooms as well as are both very active within the school supporting other programs and getting involved with school spirit.

Congrats go out to both young men!!!!! Remember to keep us posted next year while you are in college.

On Dec. 19th members of the Basha Bears football program joined hundreds of others to raise awareness and money for research for Mitochondrial Disease here in Arizona.  The First Annual Walk held at Kiwanis Park, was a huge success raising over $40,000 for research.

Althought we did not have a huge presence at the walk, the players and families who participated, had a great time interacting with others and taking some time out before the holidays to make a difference.  Since this was the first annual of the walk, the Basha Football Program made a commitment to make this an annual thing and will continue to support the fight for Mitochondrial Disease.

The Players who participated in this years event were:

Seniors – Zach Williams(#99) and John Tanguay(#55)
Juniors – Blake Tamarkin(#95), Drew Mahooty(#78), Bryce Cole (#18) and Alex Benites (#52)

Next Years event will be held in November with more details to come later.

A very hard fought week for the Basha Football program. Our 9th grade team fell to Hamilton in an exciting football game with several outstanding performances. Rajhon Meriwether again was spectacular and solid play was turned in by Zach Werlinger and Wesley Sutton, Zach Rucas, Ivan Sanchez, and Jake Carlin. It is very interesting watching these games each week and fun to see the players grow, improve and watch different people step up each week. We want our freshmen to continue to work hard and keep getting better and look forward to having ALL the players step up in the same game!!!!!!!  KEEP UP THE HARD WORK. (more…)
